Summary Template/Article Template/more questions

I have been trying to make sense of the summary templates and article templates and do something useful with them. First I would like to have just the top article use the the .tmpl file. OK now I can do that by setting top count to 1, but THEN I would like to format the list of articles that appears...

:!: wowowow you deserve an award, Pappnase! But.... I can't tell how you did it. It looks the same as the way I had set it up? phpWCMS is very very non-intuitive sometimes. Oh wait...do you have to use a wysiwyg contentpart? I did not get an email. [EDIT] OK I think I see the problem. I was trying t...

Go Dexxus. I had named my id incorrectly...working now. For clarity to the original poster...You need to add 2 ids (can't use a class for the a selector) in the 'default.css' file (one for links, one for plain text): #breadcrumb { color:#FFFFFF; font-size:9px; } #breadcrumb a{ color:#FFFFFF; font-si...

Actually this is something that I have wondered about.
What would be the appropriate way go about defining a CSS rule for just the {BREADCRUMB}? Wrapping the {BREADCRUMB} in a <div id="something"> tag and then adding this id in 'default.css' does not seem to change the {BREADCRUMB}.

If I understand this function correctly, I should be able to completely customize the look of the summary list by applying the .tmpl file, correct?

In other words, the .tmpl code is inserted in the location of the {content} tag, right?

Has anyone solved this? I am trying to make a simple running list of article summaries each with an image displayed to the left of the text. The summary template is apparently not working. I have chosen the sample.tmpl file in the dropdown, but nothing happens. I can choose the sample.tmpl file for ...

I think you meant: <h1>HTML</h1> With the exception of the <b> tag, his use of divs with ids is not semantically incorrect, just more verbose. There may be times when its advantageous to have the flexibility of ids. Its funny how these CSS discussions always devolve into questions of semanti...

Your post is a little unclear. Do you mean that you want to create a new template using an existing template as a starting point? You can't do that. You have to start from scratch for every template. This is something that would be a great thing to have in the future--a 'Duplicate Template' button o...

Display article content in different page areas??

I have a layout with 2 columns: an image in a column on the left and caption for that image in a column on the right. Is there some way to split up the content parts from one article in this way? I see that I can use the HTML contentpart and create the 2-col layout for the article...BUT...I can't se...
